Brave Story: Brave Friends at Main Event

Strikes, Slices, and Uninhibited Joy

Pizza. Bowling. Arcade games. Sounds like a recipe for fun, but in the hands of Brave Friends, it became so much more. We took on Main Event West Chester not once but twice, turning strikes, slices, high scores, and more into moments of uninhibited joy, shared courage, and unforgettable connection.

At our December event, two kids shared their biggest smiles as they posed with a jolly inflatable gingerbread man. “Thank you from the bottom of my mama heart for giving us not only the gift of family time, but the gift of memories,” said their mom, Brittany Rodgers. “Noah and Everleigh loved that they got to play their hearts out at games for a full hour, to bowl as a family, and eat pizza for lunch!” she laughed.

The sounds of joy intermingled with the electronic sounds of video games, including racing simulators, classic arcade games, and more. At a shootout-style game, two cousins gripped their plastic guns in fierce concentration, friendly competition ongoing. “Our little heart warrior, Kaden, had the best time with his cousin, Reign!” Brave Mom Krysta enthused.

Elsewhere, at an immersive Transformers game, another mom enjoyed a moment of gaming alongside her son. “Thank you so much for giving our children an opportunity to forget the things they are going through for a few hours,” she said. “Ryan had a great time.”

The Blanton family was delighted by a surprise sighting of Santa Claus, who made a special appearance on the gravity ropes course. “We had such a great time and I can’t say enough good things about how well done this event was and how much our whole family loved it,” remembered Brave Dad, Nick. Later in the afternoon, Santa also posed for a photo with the Lamb family. “It was our first time and we truly enjoyed it,” said Brave Mom, Melissa.

We returned to Main Event again a few weeks later, welcoming a new group of families - and some familiar faces - to create even more unforgettable moments. Laughter filled the room once again as kids took on the ropes course, laser tag, and arcade games. “We would never be able to get out and do things like this,” reflected one Brave Parent.

For a few hours, worries were set aside and replaced with laughter, courage, and connection. These moments of uninhibited joy are exactly what Brave Friends is all about: creating space where families can simply be together, fully present, and free to make memories that last far beyond the final game played.
